woman: is this toys r us?
me: uhm no.. this is playthings toystore..
woman: oh ok. well i guess this will work too… (to someone else in the room) baby, get on the line!
[both woman and man are on the same phone line]
man: hullo?
me: hi?
man: who is this?
me: playthings toystore?
man: oh, youre not toys r us?
me: nope, we are not.
man: oh. well maybe you have this. you know those big huge bouncy balls in those big towers at toys r us, do you have those?
me: oh no we dont. you would probably have to go to toys r us or walmart for something like that.
[then both man and woman start talking at the same time]
me: uhmm, sorry? [because i thought i heard a question]
woman: bitch.. did i stutter? i asked where you were
man: i was talking first!
woman: (to the man, in a very nice and sympathetic tone) oh sorry baby.. (then to me, nastily) so where you located?
me: we are located at the hilldale mall… i just wanted to tell you that i dont appreciate being spoken to like that
woman: what did you say, bitch?
me: i said, i do not appreciate being spoken to like that.
woman: bitch, i am going to come over to that mall and beat your ass up!

i hang up the phone, shaking with rage… people actually talk to other people like this? i can’t even believe it. i was seeing red, and on the verge of tears because i was so taken aback and shocked that this would even happen. kevin was helping a customer during this convo and both were concerned as i got off the phone, and couldn’t believe what they heard when i explained that i got called a bitch. the customer even said that the situation was “fucked up” and apologized profusely. i am still a little shaken up. seriously? you have got to be kidding me.. this can not be real life.
